I saw a post on Instagram yesterday which made me think. The post was lovely, at first. It said that if you have a person in your life who is always there for you, even when you get distracted or ignore them. It said that if you are lucky enough to have a person like that in your life, you should wake up and be grateful for their existence because such gifts are hard to come by in this ‘shitty world of ours’.

And this is where I get off the ride. It was such a lovely thought but then it all turned to shit. Turned to shit for no reason and without warning and I for one will forever stand with Louis Armstrong and hold fast to the reality that its a wonderful world we are living in.

How we see the world matters.

It matters a lot. It is impossible to be happy if you think that you are hard done by, eking out an existence. I refuse to see my world that way and I think you should not accept such a world either.

I am not blind. I see the things that are going on everywhere but I choose to ignore most of it. Ignoring doesn’t make them go away, but it doesn’t help me focusing on them either because I don’t have the power to do anything about it. Together we have the power, but individually it would be like pissing in the wind. (Thanks Uncle Neil)

It’s a wonderful world not a shitty one.

The way we see the world is the way we see ourselves.

And its not like there is one world out there. We have seven billion different worlds. You get a choice in how your see yourself and the world that surrounds you. You can choose to see yourself as fat and feel bad that you’ll come last in a race, or you can choose to realize that you were built for comfort and forget what the world thinks anyway.

I’m not advocating heart conditions and early onset of diabetes, but I do believe the world is neither good nor bad. It is certainly not shitty and if you’re like me there ain’t nothing nobody can do to stop me believing that is wonderful.
