Whether you’re shuffling a deck of cards or holding your breath, magic is pretty simple. It comes down to training, practice, and experimentation, followed up by ridiculous pursuit and relentless perseverance.
David Blaine
Magic is pretty simple and so is success because after all what is success but a little magic. A little magic, a little simplicity, and the right results can be yours for the right price. The price has to be paid because nothing comes from nothing, but rather transfers its energy from the one to the other.
You have to take it upon yourself to train. Train smartly and purposefully. It can’t just be any kind of training. You need the right teacher, have absolutely commitment and carve out the necessary time to get at it, no matter what time of day it is or how tired you may feel.
Along with training you will also need practice. Lots and lots of practice. When you think you’ve practiced enough, you’ll practice some more, and some more. The truth of the matter is, the practice will never end, it will only go deeper, become more fulfilling and ultimately bring you the life you dream of living.
Many people fair well with training and practice. The find the discipline and execute with relative precision that which they are intended to do, but that is not enough. It is of course enough if you want to be nothing more than a copy. To do nothing more but to receive applause and grow your bank account. Training and practice, if done well, might be enough if you only intend to mirror that which has already done, and done well. And quite honestly, you might even become quite successful as a result, but unless you experiment and create something new, something that comes from deep inside your heart, you will probably be frustrated and never meaningfully satisfied.
Experimenting is the hidden ingredient to the recipe of success because experimentation requires being comfortable and ready to fail. That is what experimentation is; trial and error. A lot more error, and whole lot of trial. Experimenting is what will bring forth a new masterpiece and a new way of doing or seeing things the world has never imagined before but not without pursuit and perseverance.
Ridiculous pursuit and relentless perseverance.
You need absurd, comical, riotous type of purist in your life. Constant, persistent, uninterrupted, unstoppable and sustained perseverance. But notice that you’re not being called to be perfect? Notice that you’re not being asked to be motivated? There is no perfect time to begin, no set amount of money you need to get started, and your mistakes, your ups and downs will be frustratingly unnumbered and unknown.
You need training, practice, experimentation, ridiculous pursuit and relentless perseverance. You can’t cheat any of this. You can’t change the laws that govern this majestic universe. Most importantly, you can do it, because God don’t make no junk. The universe doesn’t create things anything that is not essential to its existence.
Your life has great meaning. You have incredible value. How much value is up to you. Only you can decide how much you’ll train, practice, experiment and smile on your quest, driven by absurd sense of pursuit and unstoppable perseverance.
