I read a great post on instagram yesterday that has made me interested in neurochemistry.
It was a quote by Doctor Joe Dispenza who said that ‘your brain and body don’t know the difference between having an actual experience in your life and just thinking about the experience. Neurochemically, it’s the same”.
That’s quite a mouthful but I’m very excited about the possibilities. In the summer I was doing incantations. I was asked to do them by my photography coach. It felt weird and I had to force myself to do it, but I have to be honest the effects were spectacular. Incantations are very simple. You quiet your mind for five minutes with some deep breathing. You follow that up with five minutes of being grateful for everything you have and everything you want to have and than you incant.
You repeat statements you wish to be true in your life that you might have doubts about and when you say them out loud with emotion and conviction, your mind and body don’t know any difference and over time that is who you become.
My favourite one was “I have everything I desire and everything I desire desires me”. I said that a lot but just like everything in my life, for some reason I have stopped doing them. Yesterdays, post by Doctor Dispenza made me think that perhaps doing the incantations is not as weird as I originally imagined.
I need to get back to them because now I am armed with science. Ok. I haven’t verified this science. I don’t even know who this doctor is. Maybe he has a PHD in poetry. But regardless, I’m going to go with how I felt and will get over myself and get back to the practice that I shouldn’t have abandoned.
Nutrition is next. Weights come after that. There are some changes coming my way over the next little while. The days may be getting shorter. Nights are getting colder, but that’s the perfect time to go to work on yourself. If we start now, there is no telling where we will be when the beautiful warmth of summer swings by again.
