There will come a day, in the not so distant future that you’ll wish and beg for more days like this. But than will be then and this is now. You have the day you’ll wish you had, like so many days that have already passed us by, but what are you going to do about it?

Are you going to forget about it shortly after reading this and smile at the irony of it all? Or are you going to put this day to good use? Good use. Meaningful, dutiful, purposeful, thoughtful, fun use. Treat this day like it will never come again, because if truth be told, it will never come again. Yes, I understand that there is always tomorrow, but tomorrow is never quite like this. It never presents the opportunity and experience like today.

Today.

This is where you are and this is what you’ve been tasked to deal with. You’ll probably face a day fraught with adversity and anguish. There will be people and events that like a sand paper, will rub you the wrong way. Yes, it is all true. Things will not go according to plan, but than again what is the plan? Is there really a plan?

There is no plan. There is no reality like the way things were supposed to be, like the way things were supposed to go. The plan is you and the world. The plan is today, not yesterday or tomorrow and a day will come when you will be wishing and regretting that you didn’t use more days like this.

It won’t take much. It might even take a few minutes. A few minutes to spend contemplating the meaning of your existence. A few minutes getting away from the chaos and the self obsessed social media culture.

Think how great it will feel to listen to one more song, or to write another few sentences? How great will it feel to spend a few more moments with people that will one day disappear, as will you, as will everyone and everything.

Life is for living and if you understand the truth and the reality of that statement you will not allow yourself to sit by and let it disappear. No matter how cold it is outside. No matter how hot and sticky. No matter where you are and what you’ve got.

No matter.

What matters is you. The great person that you are. The experience you’ve gotten over the years, and the dreams and passions that run deep inside your soul. That’s what matters.

Remember that today is not like any other. It is a chance to do something. A chance to care, to love, and work at something. I’m not trying to scare you, quite the opposite, but the day is coming and you may finally understand, that if you find no use for a day like today, you will probably not embrace the day that that follows either.

But why not? What do you have to lose? More importantly, what is it that you have to gain? Think about it. How will today impact tomorrow?

Tomorrow, look back and smile because there was a day that came and that made all the difference in the world.
