Left.  Right.  Left.  Right.  Left.  Right.

Some days are just like that.

You wake up with no real clarity of mind.  With staggered thoughts and wild visions.  You wake up with no energy or sense of purpose.  You find yourself inundated with prickly thoughts, visions of utter failure, and the comfortable blanket of self-doubt.  There are days you will struggle to wake up.  Struggle to make any move forward.  Struggle and stumble your way throughout your day.

We all get days like this.

Those of us who are unlucky, face days that turn to weeks, perhaps months.

I wish I had a viable, working solution.

I wish I could offer you some much needed home and wisdom here or perhaps a good blueprint to help you on your way, but sometimes, all we have, is the map we originally started with.

All that we have, are the habits and desires we created.  Habits that were formed not that long ago.  When we decided to take a chance on ourselves.  When we believed our own greatness.  A time when we danced with the sun, and French kissed the moon of possibility.

It is time to follow execute those plans.

Your mind.  Your emotions.  Your tired body.  Everything and anything.  It all feels like it is all conspiring against you.

You want to quit.  You want it to stop.  You want to go back.

Don’t.

Where you find yourself is necessary.

You are here because of where you want to go.

This is not the end.  It is a sign that with persistence and perseverance everything will be fine.

So, take one foot, and place it in front of the other.

Left.  Right.  Left.  Right.

Don’t make any decisions you will regret.  Don’t give up.  Don’t quit.  Don’t second guess yourself.  Don’t beat yourself up.  Don’t say things you will later regret.

Don’t take on anything new.

Take a deep breath.

Take out a piece of paper and a pen, and make a list of five things you can do today.  Make sure that you can do them.

The list should not be complicated.

Clean the kitchen counter.  Fill up the car with gas.  Pick up kids from the school.  Write one paragraph.  Call Sonia.  Help Bobby with his homework.  Do ten minutes of yoga.  Read for fifteen minutes.  Pay some bills.  Have an ice-cream.

Work your list.

When you are finished.  Make another list.

Go to bed and see what tomorrow brings.

Left.  Right.

Repeat.

Eventually.  No matter how dark.  No matter how long.  The dawn always breaks.  A new day always smiles beautiful beginnings.

Don’t miss it.

Keep taking life.  One step at a time.
