Let’s get one thing straight. There will never be enough time. Period. End of sentence. Feel free to drop the mic right here, but that might be a little over the top. There is never enough time but that doesn’t mean that you can’t get what you want with what you’ve got.

We sleep one third of our life away. That’s if we’re lucky enough to get reliable sleep that is. But even if you’re tossing and turning, in the trawls of some kind of sleep, one third of our life goes poof. It is not ours.

That leaves us two thirds of our life. Some sixteen hours or so, but that too is deceiving. That sixteen hours is not ours either because in order to do anything we have to earn a wage and use money in order not to sleep outside and fight the racoons over garbage. Out of the sixteen hours that are at our disposal, somewhere between eight and ten of them are devoted to work.

It doesn’t matter really if you like your work, that certainly makes all the difference in the world, but it doesn’t matter, because that time too is something we don’t control, which leaves us with some six hours.

That’s all you’ve got each and every day. Some six hours with which to shower, cook, eat, clean, organize yourself, plan, and find the time to dream.

No wonder we put dreaming off. After all, who the hell can ever find the time, to dream, let alone to work for those dreams?

You do. I know it’s only six hours, but you don’t need more than that. Six hours is all you need assuming of course you don’t waste it or let it vanish by binge watching television, getting high or drunk, or gossiping the night away.

I’m not telling you how to live your life. It is very difficult to concentrate and kick my own ass each and every day, that I wouldn’t dream of telling you how to live yours. But you can’t say that you don’t have time. You can only say that you choose not to make time, because you decide each and every day what kind of life you are going to have tomorrow.

If you decide not to invest in your future. If you choose not to pay the cost and sacrifice the enjoyment of today for the fulfillment of tomorrow, then that is exactly what you’re going to have. There should be no surprise about your life tomorrow, although that’s not completely true. We don’t really have that much control. Even if we try to isolate ourselves and shun the world, life has a funny way of shaking us awake and coaxing us back into dreamful existence.

You can find the time. You can find the time to do what needs to be done so that you can be who you want to be and have what you want to have. It won’t be easy. It will never be easy but it is not impossible and you have the time to do it.

Choose yourself above everything else. In choosing yourself, you will also choose everyone one else that you care about. Being the best person you’re capable of being makes the world better and the world desperately needs to be better. It needs you and it begs for you to find the time.
