Part of a good plan that will see the realization of your dreams is the discipline and openness to check in and ask where you are and where you should go next. It seems easy but than again most advice how to live better is. It is the actual execution that we all struggle with.
Checking in is very important. It is important because we are multidimensional beings and just because one part of our life is going well, doesn’t mean that other parts of our life are getting the same treatment. We have a body, a mind, and a soul. We need to work, but we also need to play. We need to get hard after something we really want, but we also need to know when to slow down and unplug from everything. This is why we all need to check in.
Not like we do at New Years with our drunk resolutions that seem to disappear faster than the fallen snow. We need to check in on a regular basis to know where we are, and because the world is always changing, to know where we need to go next. Yesterday the direction we needed to take might not be the direction we need to take today. Things change, and unless we check in with our dreams on a consistent basis. Unless we look ourselves in the mirror and behold everything that we are, we will not be as far along as could be.
Checking in can be partly mental but there is nothing mightier than the power of a piece of paper and a pen. Where you are in all aspects of your life and what you need to do next need to written down. Actions need to be prioritized and broken down in to small manageable pieces. They need to have a due date stamped on them, and unless in a week or a month, we look back where we are and why we are here, we are kidding ourselves into thinking that we are serious about anything we say.
Everyone has dreams but not everyone really wants to realize those dreams. We think we do but without hard work, we have nothing more than fairy dust, and wishes upon a star.
You deserve to be who you want to be and you deserve to have your dreams come true. Who are you not too? The days of thinking small need to be pushed behind you. Thinking small, hiding, waiting, don’t serve you and it doesn’t serve us either.
This is why this is your check up. Write down where you want to be by the end of the year and where you want to be by the end of the month. Break up the year into manageable months, and break up the months into manageable weeks. Get a day timer or scrap pieces of paper and make a success list. List all the things you need to get done this week. Not the dishes, or stuff your boss wants you to do. Write down what you need to do in order to be happy. We always do what we need last, so make that a priority. You are still going to do all the other stuff, but at least you won’t take yourself for granted.
Write and work your success list each and every week, and don’t forget to check in. Check in at the end of the week, and take a closer look by the end of the month. If you haven’t made progress, it’s time to make another change. Keep changing and keep pushing until you get where you want to go. Never stop until the universe delivers your dreams.
